More information about each program:

Elementary School I Matter: This program aims to help children see and understand the inherent worth of themselves and others through interactive and collaborative lessons that focus on kindness and diversity, while also teaching children effective coping skills to handle life’s stressors and build resilience. This program is available to ALL students in grades K – 4 in the Pine Grove Elementary School.

The Art Empowerment Program encourages creative expression through art in a supportive group setting. Participants will become more aware of how art can be a powerful and healthy outlet for self-expression, while in a setting that promotes this confidence in self-awareness and connection. This program is now available to students in grades 4th – 8th!

Elementary School Shine: This program was created to equip young girls with the necessary skills to develop positive self-esteem, create healthy friendships, identify their purpose, and celebrate their unique strengths and differences in a safe space through means of journaling, group discussions, and self-expression.

Community Connected: This program’s goal is to create community and connection among children on our community through reading and discussion circles, crafts, games, and community service efforts. Students create connections with peers of different ages, while also learning the value of taking care of themselves, each other, their community, and the Earth!

Elementary Strength: We are so excited to introduce a new program, similar to Shine, but tailored to boys! At Strength, boys will learn that their worth cannot be changed while discussing the mental health needs and challenges unique to boys! This program will be facilitated by Pine Grove native, Shawn Pokrop. He also helped facilitate our I Matter program, and looks forward to being a positive role model for the boys in our community!

Middle School Shine: Middle School Shine lessons are adapted to meet the unique challenges adolescent girls face such as negative body image, understanding their strengths and insecurities, challenges making and keeping friends, navigating peer pressure and understanding how their bodies develop and change. Our mentors work with intention and care to explore these topics in a safe space, so as the girls learn to embrace who they are, they can also begin to embrace others.
